"An autonomous Union open to the world" is the motto chosen by Cyprus for its EU Presidency, which it began in January 2026. It will also focus on making further progress in negotiating the EU's 10th Framework Programme.

From January 2026, scientists and representatives of the private sector from Japan can participate in the calls of the 2nd pillar of Horizon Europe under the same conditions as associated countries to this EU programme.

The Horizon Europe Cluster 5 info day will take place online on 15 January 2026. This event will be preceded by a brokerage event.

The ERC Plus Grants are new funding scheme which will support outstanding researchers with bold ideas and vision going beyond the scope of existing ERC grant schemes.
