Fri Apr 09 12:35:51 CEST 2021

We recommend having a look at the article by the Estonian NCP for the Widening Participation and Strenghtening the ERA part of Horizon Europe, Kristin Kraav, published in the April edition of the NCP_WIDE.Net project bulletin.

The article summarizes which aspects should be included in a Gender Equality Plan (GEP). Let us remind you that from 2022 on, having a GEP will be obligatory for the beneficiaries of the new framework programme.

What can serve as a useful guide for the preparation of your institutional GEP is the mentioned “Gender Equality in Academic and Research Organisations“ (GEAR) tool created by the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE), a specialized EU agency dealing with gender balance between women and men. The tool is being updated at the moment so that it is fully in accord with Horizon Europe and its requirements. Nevertheless, it can offer useful tips for the preparation phase. The portal also includes concrete examples of existing GEPs. The update of the GEAR tool is expected to be published at the beginning of 2022.
