On 20 April, the results of the largest ever public consultation on the past and future of the Horizon 2020 Framework Programmes for Research and Innovation, the interim evaluation of Horizon Europe and the shaping of the Horizon Europe Strategic Programme 2025-2027 were published.
As CZELO reports, "in total, 2788 respondents participated in the consultation. Out of these, 34 answers came from the Czech Republic. The countries with the largest number of respondents are Italy (273), France (260), Germany (252) and Spain (232). In addition to questionnaires, the institutions were also able to express themselves through position papers, of which there were 265."
The results of the consultation and the outlook for 2025-2027 can be found in Synopsis Report Looking into the R&I future priorities 2025-2027.
The priorities will be: combating climate change, energy supply and protecting biodiversity.
These areas were identified as unsatisfactory: "insufficient synergy between the different parts of the programme, but also with other European programmes". In relation to this, "the lack of clarity and lack of complementarity between European partnerships, Missions and the second pillar of Horizon Europe were also often mentioned."
