Public consultation on life sciences

The European Commission calls for input in order to prepare a new multi-disciplinary life sciences strategy.

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has proposed the creation of a strategy for life sciences, which will become part of the so-called "Competitiveness Compass". She emphasizes the contribution of life sciences to Europe's competitiveness. Von der Leyen also pointed out that life sciences are important for the agricultural and health sectors. 

The aim of the new multi-disciplinary strategy for life sciences it to:
- boost competitiveness and prosperity
- accelerate the green and digital transitions
- create new jobs
- reduce dependencies on external sources.  


Scientists can express their views on which topics they consider essential for the newly prepared strategy.
