
Poland took over the presidency of the Council of the European Union

Poland holds the presidency of the Council of the EU in the first half of 2025. It has set as its main priority, the strengthening of European security at various levels.
Polish Presidency will focus on these priorities:
- support activities strengthening European security in all its dimensions: external, internal, information, economic, energy, food and health.
- Protection of people and borders
- Resistance to foreign interference and disinformation
- Ensuring security and freedom of business
- Energy transition
- Competitive and resilient agriculture
- Health security
In the field of research and innovation, Poland will also focus on international cooperation, the full exploitation of the EU’s potential and talents, strengthening EU competitiveness, openness and synergies between the different funding sources.
The Presidency will emphasise the potential of science and innovation for strengthening EU competitiveness, security in various dimensions.
Poland takes over the Presidency from Hungary and thus launches the Presidency Trio, followed by Denmark and Cyprus.
