New European Bauhaus 2024 Prizes

Fri Oct 06 15:06:01 CEST 2023

Apply by November 10, 2023 (7 p.m. CET) for the 4th edition of the New European Bauhaus Awards 2024.

As in previous years, prizes will be awarded in 4 categories:

  • Back to nature
  • Regain a sense of belonging
  • Prioritising the places and people most in need
  • Creating a circular industrial ecosystem and fostering life-cycle thinking.

Each of the four categories contains two parallel competition parts:

Part A: "New European Bauhaus Champions" is for existing or completed projects that have clear and positive results.
Part B: "Rising Stars of the New European Bauhaus" is for concepts submitted by young talents under 30 years of age.

At the same time, the fourth year comes with three innovations:

  1. A quarter of the prizes will be awarded to projects and concepts coming from regions facing the most pressing socio-economic challenges in the EU and at the forefront of cohesion policy. For the Czech Republic, these are the following areas: Northwest, Northeast, Central Moravia and Moravia-Silesia. Maps of the regions assessed, together with a list of regions, are available on the NEB Awards website.
  2. The competition is open to projects and concepts not only from EU Member States and Western Balkan countries, but also from Ukraine.
  3. A "Special Award for Reconstruction and Reconstruction Efforts" will be awarded to recognise a project or concept that focuses on the resilience, recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine in the spirit of the New European Bauhaus.

In 2024, a total of 20 innovative projects and concepts will be awarded. The winners will receive a cash prize of between €15,000 and €30,000 and a communication package from the European Commission. The results will be announced during the New European Bauhaus Festival, which will take place in Brussels from 17 to 21 April.

All information is available on the competition website.
