Launch of the CHANSE Call

Following the participation of the CAS in the CHANSE Programme, a joint initiative of two existing networks HERA and NORFACE supporting research in the field of humanities and social sciences, the CAS research institutes have a new possibility of international cooperation in the form of multilateral projects with a number of European countries. From 9 March 2021, researchers in the social sciences and humanities can submit proposals for multilateral projects focused on the thematic area of Transformations: Social and Cultural Dynamics in the Digital Age.
A precondition for the submission of a joint project proposal is the establishment of a consortium consisting of at least four national research teams from four different countries eligible to receive funding from the CHANSE funders. Outline Proposals must be submitted by the Project Leader on behalf of the whole consortium via the Electronic Proposal Submission System (EPSS). A two-phase system has been designated for the submission of project proposals. The deadline for the submission of outline proposals is 7 May 2021, while the deadline for full proposals is 7 December 2021.
Participants from the CAS institutes must submit this Project Proposal Details form to the e-mail address zochova@kav.cas.cz by 7 May 2021.
The conditions for financial support are subject to the national rules established by individual CHANSE partner organisations. Each partner organisation only covers the costs of the national part of the successful projects. In the case of the Czech Republic, only researchers employed by or in another legal way associated with one of the CAS research institutes are eligible to receive funding from the CAS. The maximum financial contribution from the CAS is 200 000 EUR for one project for the entire project period (24−36 months).
