Launch of the Atlas of Demography of the EU

The European Commission launches the first edition of the EU Atlas of Demography.
The Atlas o Demography represents a new, interactive and multidimensional tool developed by the Joint Research Centre (JRC) to visualise, monitor and anticipate demographic change at a very high spatial resolution.
The tool aims at informing several policy areas (e.g., health, labour, education, access to services and amenities, territorial and cohesion policies) with timely, robust, comparable demographic data and knowledge at the finest level of geographical detail to help target EU policies more closely to the needs of the EU citizens.
During the panel discussion, moderated by Commission’s JRC Director-General Stephen Quest, the speakers will discuss the cross-cutting nature of demography and the relevance of understanding and anticipating demographic dynamics for all levels of policy-making.
The event take place online on 29 April 2021, 10:00-11:00 CEST.
