Joint Research Centre opens its scientific laboratories and facilities

JRC opens laboratories in various areas, such as nuclear systems or material investigation. Currently, a call for doing research in the following laboratories is open: AMALIA, MCL and SMPA. 

Following laboratories are opened:

AMALIA, assessment of nuclear power plants core internals (EMMA) 2024-1-RD-EMMA-AMALIA  
This laboratory is used to study the effect of environment on the mechanical and corrosion performance.   

MCL, Micro-Characterisation Laboratory (EMMA) 2024-1-RD-EMMA-MCL 

MCL is dedicated to the experimental investigation of materials performance in terms of microstructure and micromechanics.

SMPA, Structural Materials Performance Assessment Laboratories (EMMA), 2024-1-RD-EMMA-SMPA

These laboratories provide the infrastructure for mechanical tests in ambient and corrosive environments from cryogenic to high temperatures at the macro and micro scales. SMPA test machines include Charpy Hammer, Tensile Test, or creep test machine.
