Gender Equality in Research Open Forum

On March 21 from 10 a.m., Antje Vollmer, Head of the Task Force IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Anti-discrimination) of LEAPS will discuss the topic of inherent diversity of large-scale international research infrastructures.
Given her long-time experience, Anite Vollmer will share LEAPS (League of the European Accelerator-based Photon Sources) IDEA’s approach to four focus areas:
1) Inclusion, 2) Diversity, 3) Equity, and 4) Anti-discrimination, giving examples of best practices from the LEAPS facilities and concrete practical advice.
The presumption is that although systemic discrimination and other forms of violence occur on a daily basis and many researchers encouter it, it often happens unintentionally and can be prevented.
Antje Vollmer will also discuss how the international scientific community can inspire inclusive collaboration in society in general thanks to the experience with team work and inter- or transdisciplinary international cooperation.
