First European Conference on Science Diplomacy

Watch live stream from the first conference dedicated to science diplomacy held in Madrid under the Spanish Presidency from 18 to 19 December 2023.

The objectives of the conference are:

• Evaluation of the development of the European Science Diplomacy Framework;
• progress in the preparation of the draft framework and discussion of the way forward;
• offer a space for dialogue, co-creation and participation of a wide range of stakeholders and promote the outreach of science diplomacy, including outside the EU;
• and strengthening the motivation of science diplomacy actors to actively participate and the visibility of the ongoing process.

The conference is an opportunity to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Madrid Declaration on Science Diplomacy, which has been supported by more than 200 experts since its adoption in December 2018.
