Event on the Launch of the Competence Centre on Participatory and Deliberative Democracy

Wed Sep 08 10:10:20 CEST 2021

The new Competence Centre on Participatory and Deliberative Democracy aims to meet the increasing demand to support participatory and deliberative projects and policies.

This is made possible by providing concrete support to European institutions’ initiatives, as well as to the variety of participatory and deliberative activities and projects across the EU. More specifically, it builds capacity on citizen engagement in policy making by providing services, guidance and tools to support the development of socially robust policy through participatory and deliberative practices across different levels of governance in the EU, and innovates on methodological aspects. The Competence Centre is a tangible contribution to the Commission’s priority 6: New push for European Democracy, and supports cross-cutting policy initiatives including the European Democracy Action Plan, the Conference on the Future of Europe and EU Missions.

Immediately after the launch, we will hold a networking session for practitioners, policymakers and researchers to explore collaboration opportunities in the context of the new Competence Centre. The event is open to all and registration is required through the main registration link

The event will take place online on 6 October 2021 9:45-11:50 CEST.

The programme is available here.
