The European Commission's goal in the new EU AI strategy is to develop artificial intelligence in both the public and private sectors in Europe.

The European Commission set out two strategies to ensure Europe stays ahead, driving adoption in key industries and across strategic and public sectors including pharmaceuticals, healthcare, energy, mobility, manufacturing, construction, agri-food, communications, defence and culture.

The new strategy also includes a plan to increase funding for the area of artificial intelligence. The funds will also be directed to the development of supercomputers. The Commission is mobilising around €1 billion.
