Fri Jan 27 14:05:02 CET 2023

Participate in three projects for free focused on 1) communicating research to new audiences including content-creation for social media, 2) a citizen science project of wildlife recording, and 3) free training videos aimed at supporting researchers in media & engagement.

As part of the European Researchers Night 2023 the Natural History Consortium offers three projects to participate in for free:

1. European Researcher’s Showcase: Learn how to communicate your work to new audiences. Researchers at any professional level and in any discipline who want to develop content-creation skills for social media are welcome. You will get access to a suite of FREE public engagement training videos, a live virtual training event, and support from an award-winning science communicator. We will then showcase your work during an online showcase in April or September respectively. Please note that in 2023 there will be 2 showcases:

1st training option: Feb & Mar (showcase in Apr)

2nd training option: Jul & Aug (showcase in Sep during ERN).

Sign up here.

2. EuroBioBlitz: On 29 & 30 September 2023, we are running a Europe-wide Bioblitz event, with the mission to record as much wildlife as possible over 48 hours, using the iNaturalist app. We're looking for individuals or groups who are interested in running local mini-events as part of this. For example, guided nature walks in their local communities.More details to come about the EuroBioBlitz later in the year, but please let know the contact person if you’re interested in taking part in this citizen science project and he can send you more details directly.

3. The Berlin School of Public Engagement and Open Science at MFN Berlin will be sharing a series of training videos aimed at supporting researchers in media & engagement that will be openly accessible to anyone.
