European Researchers' Night 2023 and the MSCA and Citizens Call

On Friday, September 29, the European Researchers´ Night takes place in 26 European countries, and the involvement of scientists is very welcome. At the same time, the MSCA and Citizens call is still open until October 25, 2023.

In the Czech Republic, the Night of Scientists is held in many places and in many cities.

 

The current MSCA and Citizens call is open until October 25, 2023. Its mission is the organization of Scientists' Nights, but also the Scientists in Schools initiative. It is necessary to apply for it together with the proposal of actions for the years 2024-2025, research organizations are eligible. Costs are paid in the form of a "lump sum".

Timeline:

  • 25 October 2023: Deadline for submitting proposals
  • February-March 2024: Notification of call results to applicants (TBC)
  • March-April 2024: Grant agreement signature for successful projects (TBC)
  • April 2024: First EU-funded projects start (TBC)

Estimated budget: EUR 15.42 million; type of financing: lump sum

Objectives of the MSCA and Citizens:

  • contribute to supporting research projects of excellence across Europe and beyond
  • raise awareness among the general public of the importance and benefits of research and innovation and show their concrete impact on citizens' daily lives;
  • increase young people's interest in careers in science and research

The MSCA encourages applicants to submit proposals for two consecutive editions (2024 and 2025) of the European Researchers' Night and ideally to focus on the priorities set out in the Horizon Europe Missions and to include related activities in their actions.
