European Innovation Ecosystems (EIE): WEBINAR about upcoming calls

Mon Feb 13 14:06:05 CET 2023

On 16 February 2023, 9:30 to 12am, the European Innovation Council (EIC) and SMEs (Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises) Executive Agency (EISMEA) are organising an informative webinar to learn more about the European Innovation Ecosystems (EIE) Work Programme 2023-2024.

During the webinar you can learn more about the forthcoming calls and the application process from a team of experts. In 2023, four calls are open until March 23 and September 21 under the CONNECT destination, whose goal is to build on the existing strengths of national, regional and local ecosystems and pulling in new, less well-represented actors and territories to address societal challenges.

The European Innovation Ecosystems (EIE) is a programme that aims to create more connected, inclusive, and efficient innovation ecosystems and support the scaling of companies, as laid out in the New European Innovation Agenda. Registration is open until February 14.

The European Innovation Council (EIC) is part of the 3rd pillar of the Horizon Europe programme. It has a budget of €10.1 billion to support innovations throughout the lifecycle from early stage research, to proof of concept, technology transfer, and the financing and scale up of start-ups and SMEs. Three funding opportunities are available: EIC Pathfinder, EIC Transition, and EIC Accelerator, whilst the first two are open for, among others, research organisations and their consortia and single researchers.

The activities of the EIC are grouped in the EISMEA and the programmes related to small and medium-sized enterprises. The EISMEA was established on 1 April 2021, its predecessor was the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME).
