European Humanities Conference

Between 5 and 7 May 2021, the Portuguese capital Lisbon will host this year’s edition of the “European Humanities Conference“, titled “European Humanities and Beyond”.

The event is jointly organized by UNESCO, CIPSH (International Council for Philosophy and Human Sciences), and a Portuguese governmental organisation FCT (Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia) under the auspices of the Portuguese presidency in the Council of the EU.

The event aims to identify solutions making it possible for the humanities to become a more effective social player, strengthening the European Research Area.

Four main topics have been preselected:

1. Multidisciplinary Dynamics as Education and R&D strategies for meaningful problem solving
2. Heritage, mobility and identities
3. Influence and impact of the Humanities in society
4. The Humanities in the 21st Century
