EU and Canada confirmed cooperation in research and security

The leaders of the European Union and Canada met to renew their enduring commitment to further reinforce their strategic partnership. 

Canada is an associated country to Horizon Europe and this agreement confirms further cooperation in different areas. Canada's involvement is also expected in the upcoming Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. 

Cooperation will also be strengthened in the areas of digitalization, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and high-performance computing. 

The partnership will also continue in areas such as climate change, circular economy, decarbonisation and others.
