ERA Living guidelines on the responsible use of generative AI in research

The European Research Area Forum, composed of European countries and research and innovation stakeholders, issued the guidelines on how to use the AI tools appropriately.     

These guidelines focus on generative AI, which is used in the research process. One of the goals of this document is that scientific community uses AI in a responsible manner.  

It was developed as a supporting tool for research organization, researchers, and research funding bodies, including the ones applying to the European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. They take into account key principles on research integrity as well as already existing principles. The document also highlights possible risks when using artificial intelligence.
